Guernsey Scrap Metal
Guernsey Scrap Metal collects and receives all types of scrap metal, from old cars and domestic appliances to demolition re-bar and heavy construction grade steel. This is all processed through our heavy plant and machinery to make clean metal, which is exported to be melted into new steel.
Our non-ferrous operation processes all types of non-ferrous metals, from household boilers and lead roofing offcuts, electrician and plumber’s metals to old sinks and taps. We produce clean high-quality grades of copper, brass, lead, stainless steel and other non-ferrous metals for export.
We operate from a fully licensed environmentally protected site in the industrial north of the Island, housing a full vehicle depollution plant, hydraulic shear and metal shredder, to process as much material ‘at source’ as possible.
The GSM whole ethos is to reduce waste and reuse, recycle, and recover, following European Directive and Environment Agency Best Practice Methods to turn waste into raw materials. We aim to divert 80% of material that we handle away from landfill, creating a significantly positive environmental impact for our Island.
Guernsey Scrap Metal is a true ‘Circular Economy’ operation for scrap metal, creating new resources from waste metals.
